Covering the 2012 Cocoa Beach Air Show with the 920th Rescue Wing / Patrick Air Force Base. They performed a search-and-rescue demo for thousands on the beach over the course of the weekend, and invited me along to cover it from their perspective - both on the C-130 Hercules and HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter. It was an incredible first-hand insight into what they do everyday as combat-search-and-rescue airmen. They also served as "Guardians of the Astronauts", watching over them for decades as they thundered off their launch pads.
