Covering the 2012 Cocoa Beach Air Show with the 920th Rescue Wing out of Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. They performed a search-and-rescue demo for thousands on the beach over the course of the weekend, and invited me along to cover from their perspective - both on the C-130 Hercules and HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter. It was an incredible first-hand insight into what they do everyday as combat-search-and-rescue airmen. They also served as "Guardians of the Astronauts", watching over them for decades as they thundered off their launch pads. Big thanks to 920th PAO, the air crews, and Pararescuemen who allowed me to tag along for both Saturday and Sunday demos.
