Utah Annular Solar Eclipse / May 20, 2012
On May 20, 2012, an annular solar eclipse crossed over the western United States, the first solar eclipse over U.S. soil in nearly 20 years. The center line of the eclipse path crossed over the southwestern area of the country, and I covered the event from dead center in the path at a small town in Utah called Kanarraville. I hiked a a mountain just outside of town to set up on the high ground with a clear view facing west towards the eclipse. Weather was perfect, and the folks I met and witnessed the eclipse with were as nice as could be.
