The launch of SpaceX’s CRS-16 Dragon mission to the International Space Station for NASA at 1:16 p.m. EST on December 5, 2018, roaring to orbit with close to 6,000 pounds of supplies 7 cargo from Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.

SpaceX attempted to land the rocket back on the Cape at Landing Zone-1, but an anomaly forced an abort to splash down offshore instead, in spectacular fashion. So the following day, I took a helo hop to scout some of the unique recovery operations going on just a few miles offshore.
